You can’t visit Florida without at least sampling some marine cuisine. From crabs to lobster to fresh, local fish, and everything in between, this state has become a mecca for sun soakers and seafood lovers.
And if you happen to be planning a trip to the ever-exciting South Beach, then you’ll have the opportunity to check out a festival centered around your favorite thing: seafood!
From October 17th through October 21st, feasters will enjoy the seafood creations of Miami’s most popular restaurants along four blocks of Ocean Drive at the 5th Annual South Beach Seafood Festival.
And with the ocean only a few steps away, you can grab a bite to eat, a refreshing drink, and a few rays of sun. So, let’s dive into all the perks you’ll discover at this event with our guide to the South Beach Seafood Festival, FL.
Food & Competitions
If you’ve been dying to try some of Miami’s top foodie hot spots, but can’t choose which one you want to visit the most, the South Beach Seafood Festival is the place for you. Here, some of the most beloved restaurants will serve the best of the best when it comes to fish, shrimp, crabs, or anything else.
Which joints will be making an appearance, you ask? Well, you can expect to see the likes of Lobster Bar Sea Grille, Joe’s Stone Crab, Red the Steakhouse, Truluck’s, Toro Toro, and lots more. And for even more excitement, the top chefs at these restaurants will be pitted against each other in culinary face-offs on Friday, October 20th.
For example, returning champion Chef Andre Bienvenue of Joe’s Stone Crab will compete against a yet-to-be-named challenger during “Battle Lobster.” Each chef will attempt to create their best dish with this luxurious crustacean, and a winner will be determined by your vote!
Even More Events!
You didn’t think the fun stopped there, did you? Well, luckily, there’s plenty more where that came from. At Crabs, Slabs, and Cabs on Tuesday, October 17th at 6:00 PM, some of the best Miami restaurants will teach you how to pair seafood dishes with wines provided by Jackson Family Wines.
If you prefer a good mixed drink over a glass of vino, Cooking & Cocktails will give you exactly that. Chefs will create a 6-course tapas meal and pair each dish with a cocktail. This event kicks off on Wednesday, October 18th at 6:00 PM.
Along with other activities throughout the week, this seafood fest wraps up on Saturday, October 21st with your favorite restaurants serving bites on the sand from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, or 9:00 PM if you’re a VIP ticket holder.
And whether you choose the General Admission or VIP pass, you’ll have all-day access to over 30 open bars. Plus, you’ll discover tasty treats like Lobster Waffle Cones, Grouper in a Bag, and so much more.
Tickets for any of the events throughout the week can be purchased on the official South Beach Seafood Fest website.
