Miami is known for many things, certainly the beaches and clubs. However, the phenomenal weather is also a big claim to fame. No matter the time of year, it should be just the right temperature for a nice run outside.

If you’re a long-distance runner looking to prove your mettle, then you’ll definitely want to check out one of the city’s most famous races: the Miami Marathon!

runner tying shoesWith Miami, it’s always go big or go home. So, you can expect that the 2018 Miami Marathon & Half Marathon, hosted by Fitbit, is sure to be one of the biggest races yet.

The locals play a huge role in not just the great participation numbers of the marathon, but in the volunteer effort, as well. However, the true heart and soul of the Miami Marathon is the diversity.

Among the usual 20,000 participants in the Marathon, you’ll find runners from as many as 80 different countries. That includes athletes from all 50 states!

Are You Looking to Participate?

This year, the Marathon will be held on Saturday, January 28th, 2018. A long day of festivities is planned. However, things should start to kick off around 7:30 in the morning.

The full course, which spans over 26 miles, runs all through the streets of Miami. Along the flat, single loop, you’ll have some excellent views of the city (and the beach) with plenty of hydration stations and live entertainment along the way!
