2016 Honda Civic Review
The 10th generation Honda Civic sedan has gone through quite the makeover for 2016. Two new powertrains, a Honda turbocharged engine, new exterior styling, a spacious cabin – the Honda Civic isn’t just stepping into the 21st century, it’s zooming in.
In this 2016 Honda Civic review from Braman Honda in Miami, drivers from Coral Gables to Gladeview can learn more about the new features of the redesigned Honda Civic.
2016 Honda Civic Style
The concept behind the 2016 Honda Civic design was intended to portray the power and capability of the sedan visually. A wider and lower stance gives the Honda Civic a sporty demeanor, while the aggressively sculpted hood is a wink to the sedan’s capability. Available LED lighting add to the bold look of the 2016 Honda Civic, with inline LED headlights and eye-catching C-shaped taillights.
Inside, the Honda Civic has been refined to offer drivers additional room throughout the cabin—3.7 cubic feet more than previous models—providing a comfortable ride no matter which seat you’re in. Even the trunk has been expanded, adding an extra 2.6 cubic feet of cargo space.
Powering the 2016 Honda Civic
To back up the sporty and aggressive styling of the 2016 Honda Civic, two new engines have been added, increasing power and efficiency. The LX and EX trims have a 2.0-liter 16-valve DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder engine paired with either a six-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission system.
The 2016 Honda Civic EX-T, EX-L, and Touring trims are equipped with a 1.5-liter, direct-injected turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This is the first time that Honda has ever added its turbo engine technology to a vehicle in the US. This engine option comes with a continuously variable transmission that delivers optimized response and performance.
Getting inside the 2016 Honda Civic, you’ll likely notice the 7-inch high-definition Display Audio touchscreen built into the dash. From here, you can access advanced features such as Apple CarPlay, which takes the capabilities of a connected iPhone and lets you control them using the touchscreen display. Make phone calls, get directions, and even ask Siri for assistance all without having to reach for your phone. Android users can enjoy similar functionality thanks to Android Auto, which is also built into the Civic technology suite.
Drivers will also enjoy the Honda Sensing suite of advanced safety and driver assistive technology. Now you can travel with added confidence knowing that you have features such as Collision Mitigation Braking, Road Departure Mitigation, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow.
