2020 Honda Civic: Performance and Handling
The 2020 Honda Civic is available in front-wheel-drive sedan, coupe, and hatchback body styles. The sedan and coupe models come with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque, though a 1.5-liter turbo 4-cylinder with 174 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque is available. Either engine pairs to a Continuously Variable Transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission.
The hatchback comes with the 1.5-liter turbo 4-cylinder, but you can upgrade to a high-performance 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder with 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. There’s also an uprated performance 1.5-liter turbo-four with 205 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque for the sedan and coupe. Both of these performance engines pair to a six-speed manual transmission only. Regardless of the body style or engine you choose, the Civic maintains its poise and lively driving dynamics for a fun, exciting ride.
2020 Honda Civic: Comfort and Interior Space
Depending on the body style, the Civic seats four or five people on comfortable cloth seating. There’s ample leg- and headroom in both the back and front, and you can increase the comfort with leather upholstery, power-adjustable seating, a steering wheel wrapped in leather, and heated and ventilated seats.
In the cargo hold, the Civic can accommodate 12.1 cubic feet of space with the coupe models. The sedan has a little more space with its 15.1-cubic-foot trunk. The hatchback has the most space with a maximum capacity of 46.2 cubic feet with the seats folded flat.
Technology in the 2020 Civic
All models of the Civic come with a 5-inch display screen, Bluetooth® connectivity, and a USB port. You can upgrade to a 7-inch touch screen infotainment system with navigation, multiple stereo options, more USB ports, satellite and HD Radio™, wireless phone charging, and Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® smartphone integration. The infotainment system features sharp graphics and an easy-to-use menu for on-demand entertainment via many connected apps.
For safety, the Civic includes automatic high beams, a rearview camera, and a host of advanced safety features. Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Collision Mitigation Braking Systemâ„¢, Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Road Departure Mitigation System are also included. These features are incredibly valuable as standard equipment and work to improve your visibility and protection on the road. You could also add blind-spot monitoring, which makes passing on the highway safer and more convenient.
