Honda Ridgeline Maintenance Schedule
The Honda Ridgeline is tough, capable, and one of the most powerful and efficient trucks in Miami, Hialeah, and Doral. But just like all vehicles, its performance will decrease over time. Fortunately, following the recommended Honda Ridgeline maintenance schedule can help to prevent that. You just need to make sure that you follow the schedule exactly.
To help you do just that, Braman Honda is here with your guide to the Honda Ridgeline maintenance schedule.
Scheduled Maintenance for Honda Ridgeline
Honda understands that it can be tough to memorize all of the intervals for necessary maintenance appointments, so they added Maintenance Minder™ to the Honda Ridgeline to make things easier.
Maintenance Minder™ is a monitoring system that watches your engine, transmission, and other parts under the hood. When it detects that the Ridgeline needs a service appointment, it displays an alert code on the Multi-Information Display to let you know.
Each code indicates different services and issues. For example, one code means that you need an oil change. and another means that you need to have your fluid levels checked. However, it can get confusing to understand what the system is trying to communicate, so we’ve defined each code below to determine what your car needs:
Main Code A
- Replace engine oil
Main Code B
- Replace engine oil and filter
- Inspect brakes, brakes hoses, and lines
- Inspect tire rods ends, steering gearbox, and boots
- Inspect driveshaft boots
- Inspect suspension
- Inspect exhaust system
- Inspect fuel lines and connections
- Inspect fluid levels and conditions
Subcode 1
- Rotate tires
Subcode 2
- Replace air cleaner element
- Replace dust and pollen filter
- Inspect drive belt
Subcode 3
- Replace transfer case fluid and transmission fluid
Subcode 4
- Replace spark plugs
- Replace timing belt
- Inspect water pump
- Inspect valve clearance
Subcode 5
- Replace engine coolant
Subcode 6
- Replace rear differential fluid
Additional Service Items
Certain services aren’t monitored by Maintenance Minder™, though, so you’ll need to follow a specific time or mileage interval. These additional services include replacing the brake fluid every three years and inspecting the idle speed every 160,000 miles.
Preventative Maintenance
You also want to make sure that you perform any necessary preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the proper care of your vehicle. Every month or so, check the tire tread depth and condition as well as each tire’s air pressure and adjust as needed. You also want to regularly check your wipers and lights and replace the blades or bulbs if necessary.
Most importantly, be mindful of how your truck is performing. If you notice anything strange such as odd noises, smells, or changes in performance, contact a professional immediately and schedule a service appointment.
